The Tinetti Performance Oriented Mobility Assessment Tool (Tinetti) is a standardized assessment tool for balance and gait that helps establish fall risk. The Haas Balance Book is a collection of over 100 balance exercises. Based on results of the Tinetti, exercises can be selected (from the book or elsewhere) that target items with low scores. Exercises that more closely simulate low-scoring items have a higher potential for a positive training effect. For example, if patient scored low on Item 8 (turning 360 degrees), exercises are selected that require turning and stepping (Exercises 60 & 78 from the book).
